Introduction

I'm a Commercial Pilot with Airplane Single Engine Land (ASEL), Airplane Single Engine Sea (ASES) and Instrument ratings. I also have Private Pilot privileges for Airplane Multi-Engine Land (AMEL) and Rotorcraft/Helicopter as well as a Remote Pilot certificate for flying drones. I've been flying since 1989 and have over 2,700 hours - most of it in tailwheel airplanes - but also in seaplanes, multi-engine airplanes and helicopters. I have owned the 1986 Maule MX-7-180 bush plane above since 1998. This photo was taken in the Idaho backcountry in 2016. See the AIRPLANE tab for more information about my Maule. Since 2012 I have flown forest fires for the North Carolina Forest Service in a 1985 Cessna A185F scout plane. See the OTHER tab for a photo. My education includes a Master of Science degree in Software Systems Engineering and a Bachelor of Science degree in Applied Mathematics. My experience includes four years active military service in ground radio communications with the United States Air Force during the Vietnam war, twenty three years with the Federal Government in communications, electronics, law enforcement and computer systems, and eleven years with private industry managing software development projects. The ADVENTURES tab contains travel blogs with pictures of my flying adventures. See my October 2018 trip to New Zealand. The OTHER tab is for sharing a variety of flying and non-flying information. I designed and built this website with hand-coded HTML, CSS, Javascript, PHP and a MYSQL database.
